TRACY YANG

Born and raised in Taiwan, Tracy Yang has established herself as a composer, musician, and photographer in New York City. Her notable awards include the Best Instrumental Album Recording at the Golden Melody Awards (2025), the Best Jazz Album at the Golden Indie Music Awards (2025), and the Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Prize (2021), among many other honors. She has received support from respected institutions such as New Music USA, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and Pathways to Jazz. 

Tracy’s jazz orchestra works have been performed globally, with a strong presence across the United States. She has shared stages and collaborated with esteemed ensembles such as the BMI/New York Jazz Orchestra, the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors, and the Taipei Jazz Orchestra. Alongside her composing career, Yang has served as a pianist for several renowned dance institutions, including ABT, the Martha Graham School, the José Limón Dance Company, and The Juilliard School. Her jazz orchestra album, OR, released in August 2024, reflects her transformative journey from a radiographer to a jazz composer, expressing her beliefs and identities.
