We are seeking and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply for the Conference.
JEN is committed to representing and cultivating diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of its operation which includes, but is not limited to, its staff, board members, volunteers, presenters, clinicians, performers and audiences.
This commitment is present in all programs and decision making, including the selection of performers and presenters at its conference.

ELIGIBLE MEMBERSHIP

MEMBERS ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION INCLUDE:

Full Individual Membership ($8 monthly or $96 annually)

Chapter Organizer ($96 annually)

Corporate Primary Contact as an Artist Representative ($550 annually)

Institution Primary Contact as an Artist Representative ($350 annually)


MEMBERSHIPS NOT ELIGIBLE INCLUDE:

eJEN Individual Membership ($45 annually)
yJEN Individual Membership (18 and under)

Clinic Application

What you will need to apply:

  • Submitter Information (the person submitting the application)
  • Presenter Information (if not the submitter)
  • Clinic Description (50 word maximum)
  • Clinic Outline (one page maximum, .pdf)
  • Presenter Bio (one page maximum, .pdf)
  • Presenter photo (300 dpi or higher, .jpeg, .jpg, .png)
  • 3 References (First Name, Last Name, and Email)

NOTE: Lead clinicians who presented last year are ineligible to apply to present a clinic this year.

Performance Application

What you will need to apply:

  • Submitter Information (the person submitting the application)
  • Performer Information (if not the submitter)
  • Performance Description (50 word maximum)
  • Ensemble photo (300 dpi or higher, .jpg, .jpeg, .png)
  • 3 Audio Files (.mp3, .m4a) – Review is by blind audition. Video uploads will disqualify your application.
  • Stage Plot (.pdf)
  • 3 References (First Name, Last Name, and Email)

NOTE: Lead performers who performed last year are ineligible to apply to perform as a lead performer this year.

Research Application

What you will need to apply:

  • Submitter Information (the person submitting the application)
  • Presenter Information (if not the submitter)
  • Presentation Description (50 word maximum)
  • Presentation Abstract/Outline (one page maximum, .pdf)
  • Presenter Bio (one page maximum, .pdf)
  • Presenter photo (300 dpi or higher, .jpg, .png, .jpeg)
  • 3 References (First Name, Last Name, and Email)

Application Communication Timeline

Teach your email inbox to accept JEN emails from office@JazzEdNet.org by inputting JEN as a contact in your system, otherwise information from JEN might end up in your SPAM folder and you’ll miss important notifications.


  • April 1 – April 30: Applications available online for the 2023 Conference.
  • May 1 – July 14: Applications prepared for review and reviewed by a review team per category.
  • July 15: Applicants notified of status via email.
  • August 1: Invited Applicants must confirm and accept the invitation to present or perform by following the instructions contained in the Acceptance letter.

COMPLIMENTARY BADGE REGISTRATION
All Performers and Presenters must be REGISTERED with their names and emails in order to receive complimentary badges on site by the deadline listed below.

  • ​WATCH your Inbox (and SPAM folder) for this very important step in the process.
  • JEN will send a direct link via email to the Submitter of scheduled performances/presentations. It is the Submitter’s responsibility to register each individual participating in the presentation or performance for a badge by the dates listed below, including any & all guest artists.
  • Participants NOT registered will not receive complimentary badges at the conference registration counter until the leader or lead clinician provides a list of participants to the JEN Registrar on site and the badges can be prepared.
  • Lead performers, presenters, and directors MUST maintain current eligible JEN Membership to participate.

Lead Performers and Lead Presenters

September 1- December 10: Submit complimentary conference badge registration for lead performers, co-performers, lead presenters, and co-presenters. 


Directors of school or community performing groups

All Ensemble Members (including allotted Chaperones) must be REGISTERED with their names and emails in order to receive complimentary badges on site by the deadlines listed below.

September 1- November 21: Submit complimentary conference badge registration for all participants within the performing ensemble allotment:

  • 1 complimentary director per ensemble
  • 1 complimentary chaperone per five student participants
  • $50 per person above the allotment
  • Miss the November 21 deadline? Conference badge registration by directors of school or community ensembles who miss the November 21st deadline will need to pay a $50 registration service fee to register online, including changes, between November 22nd and December 10th. 
  • Miss the December 10 deadline? Conference badge registration by directors of school or community ensembles who miss the December 10th deadline will need to be prepared to pay a $75 registration service fee on site at the conference registration window, including changes to an existing registration.

LARGE GROUP ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE INFORMATION

December 1-10: Information will be sent to you via email and/or posted on this page related to:

  • Conference Check-in Process.
  • Large Ensemble Arrival & Departure Form Due.
    • If you have a group  consisting of 20+ members who will be arriving together, you should complete this form to aid the hotel with being prepared with staffing for your arrival.

Anyone missing the above deadlines should expect delays at the Conference Registration Counter to secure badges.



Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct Policy

The Jazz Education Network requires adherence to the code of ethics and professional conduct for participation in any JEN events.
Refusal to agree or abide by the policy will disqualify a submission for consideration.
